A Stocky alternative built for Shopify brands in 2026
Shopify delisted Stocky from the Shopify App Store on 2nd February 2026, and it stopped working on 31st August 2026. Shopify's own purchase orders, transfers and stock counts now do most of what Stocky did. Canopy Inventory covers the part they don't: reorder planning, meaning weeks of cover, reorder-by dates and buy quantities from your Shopify sales. It does not import Stocky data or costs, scan barcodes, run stock counts, receive stock or create purchase orders.
Is Canopy Inventory a Stocky replacement?
For reorder planning, yes. Canopy Inventory is a read-only Shopify app that shows weeks of cover for every SKU (how long your stock lasts at your current sales rate), when each product runs out, what to reorder and the cash to buy it at your Shopify Cost per item. On Growth and Pro, incoming purchase orders are entered by hand. It is not a full Stocky replacement: there is no Stocky import, no barcodes, stock counts or receiving, and it does not create purchase orders. For those, use Shopify's own purchase orders, transfers and stock counts.
What happened to Stocky?
Stocky was Shopify's own inventory app. Merchants used it for purchase orders, receiving, stocktakes, transfers and reorder suggestions.
Shopify delisted Stocky from the Shopify App Store on 2nd February 2026, and Stocky stopped working on 31st August 2026, along with its APIs. Shopify says merchants have read-only access to export their data for at least 90 days after that. It has not published a fixed end date, so check Shopify's notice in your admin.
Your core Shopify data, including products, orders and stock levels, was never stored in Stocky and is unaffected. Purchase orders, stocktakes and cost history kept in Stocky are not moved into Shopify, so they need exporting before read-only access ends, and Shopify says suppliers can't be exported at all. Here is how to export your Stocky data.

What Canopy replaces, and what it doesn't
Canopy covers the reorder-planning part of Stocky. For purchase orders, receiving and transfers, use Shopify's own purchase orders and transfers in your Shopify admin.

What Canopy Inventory does
See how many weeks of stock each product has left, when it runs out, and what to reorder.
Weeks of cover per SKU
How long your stock lasts at your current sales rate, worked out from a 7, 14, 30, 45, 60 or 90-day sales window. Units sold inside bundles are counted.
Stockout and reorder-by dates
When each product runs out, and whether you need to order now or the order was already due. Out-of-stock products are flagged, and so are dead stock and overstock.
Suggested buy quantity and cash needed
A buy quantity that covers lead time, safety stock and target cover, rounded to pack size and MOQ, plus the cash to buy it at your Shopify "Cost per item". On Pro, a Top 3 actions list and cash budget planning show which buys fit the cash you enter.
Incoming stock you enter by hand
On Growth and Pro, add purchase orders already on their way so they are deducted from suggested buy quantities. Reorder settings can be set for the whole shop (and per supplier or SKU on Growth and Pro). Every view exports to CSV.

Export your Stocky data while read-only access lasts
Shopify says you have read-only access for at least 90 days after 31st August 2026; check Shopify's notice in your admin for the exact date. Download your purchase orders as CSV, save your reports and stocktakes, and copy your suppliers by hand, because Shopify says they can't be exported.
Move purchase orders, receiving, counts and transfers to Shopify
Create purchase orders and receive stock, run stock counts and move stock between locations with Shopify's own tools in your Shopify admin. Canopy does not do these jobs.
Install Canopy Inventory
Canopy reads your products, stock and sales from Shopify. It is read-only and never writes to your store.
Set your reorder settings
Add lead time, safety stock, target cover, pack size and MOQ for the whole shop (and per supplier or SKU on Growth and Pro). These drive the suggested buy quantities.
Re-enter incoming purchase orders by hand
Canopy cannot import Stocky data. On Growth or Pro, enter any orders still on their way so they are deducted from reorder suggestions.
